Project Description

The project was completed in December 2012 and is a 12,500 square metre fitout. The fitout is located in the Nishi Building in Acton West ACT and occupies parts of the lower ground floor, ground floor and levels 1 to 6 inclusive.

The base building, Nishi, is one of Australia’s market-leading energy efficient building, on track to achieve 6-star Greenstar and 6-star NABERS energy outcomes. It utilises many energy-saving systems and devices, including mixed mode natural ventilation cycles and a 400 kW photovoltaic array on the roof.

Involvement

Barmco Mana Partnership delivered all relevant services  set out in the applicable RFT professional services listed in the adjacent column. The Nishi building was selected from a group of five respondents to the need expressed by DCCEE in November 2009.  Barmco Mana Partnership provided technical assessments of all five property respondents and assisted in the selection and administration of the Nishi building by DCCEE.  This included administering the base building and fitout design briefs, technical assessment of designs and peer review of all building services trades, quantity survey and cost planning and assistance with many and varied issues for the DCCEE.

Value Added / Special features

Barmco Mana Partnership also provide ESD and Greenstar advice to the DCCEE, clearly an important aspect of this building and representing significant political risk if not handled diligently. In addition, members have handled assessment and negotiation of variations and other contractual matters.
